Why corporate coaching fail sometimes

The FACT Behind the Boom in Coaching:
Coach mentor

Corporate coaching is based on the concept of influencing or sometimes, modifying the behavior of managers and employees to bring positive change in the business environment. However, coaching initiatives are not always successful due to the reaction of people involved in the process. For example, a senior manager who has been in the business for 30 years might not listen to a 25-year old corporate coach and just do his own thing.

This is one of the major obstacles that corporate coaches are facing for the longest time. This is why coaches are encouraged to convince their clients and their employees that they know a lot about leadership and running a business so people will listen to them. This is of course, easier said than done.

Another obstacle is coaching people who do not welcome change. There are a lot of individuals who are working for organizations who do not want to get out of their comfort zone simply because they do not want to fail. This is one of the reasons why some coaching programs fail even if the corporate coaches are extremely competent.

You can turn the table around if you do your research and your home work before you work with your clients and their employees. I recommend that you get to know the elements that can push their emotional hot buttons and the elements that you can use to motivate them to welcome change. It would also help if you can try different techniques that can help you get these people to listen to your recommendations. Consider showing them the benefits that they can get even before you start the coaching program.
